Kristen Bell Set to Return to HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ | THR News

– [Kristen Bell] There’s
nothing Gossip Girl likes more than a good cat fight, and
this could be a classic. – You know you love her,
Kristen Bell is returning for HBO Max’s updated
version of Gossip Girl. This news comes following a month’s long deal making process with The Good Place and Frozen favorite. She’s set to reprise her
role as the narrator, aka blogger Gossip Girl, for the new take on the former CW drama. The producer said in a
statement on Thursday, “Kristen Bell has always
been and will always be “the voice of Gossip Girl.” The updated version of
the show was picked up straight to series with
a 10 episode order. It’s described as an extension of the show starring Blake Lively
and Leighton Meester, and it takes place eight years after the original website went dark. It will follow a new
generation of New York private school teens who are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. Bell served as the narrator
for all six seasons of the original series. She also appeared on screen
briefly for a surprise cameo where she played herself in the finale. – Hey upper east siders, Gossip Girl here, and I have the biggest news ever. – The Gossip Girl deal comes as Bell has wrapped production on the final season of The Good Place and as Frozen 2 prepares to light up the holiday box office. A premier date for Gossip
Girl has yet to be determined. HBO Max will launch in May 2020 at a rate of $15 a month. For more on this story head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, xo-xo, I’m Tiffany Taylor.
